ABOUT TAWNY NEWSOME:
TAWNY NEWSOME can be seen starring in the Steve Carell & Greg Daniels Netflix comedy series SPACE FORCE starring opposite Carell & John Malkovich. She’s also a series regular on the Star Trek animated series LOWER DECKS for CBS All-Access. In 2019, she booked the co-lead in the ABC half-hour pilot WOMAN UP from Zoe Lister-Jones opposite Mary Elizabeth Ellis. Next up, she will be off to Atlanta to shoot the comedy feature VACATION FRIENDS from Hulu/20th Century Fox opposite John Cena & Lil Rel Howery.
Newsome is a sketch/improv comedian who wrote and performed her work on the Second City Mainstage in Chicago, as well as with the Second City National Touring Company. She’s also starred in IFC’s BROCKMIRE, the Seeso Original BAJILLION DOLLAR PROPERTIE$, and BET’s THE COMEDY GET DOWN. Additional television credits include, NBC’s PERFECT HARMONY, IFC’s SHERMAN’S SHOWCASE, TVLand’s NOBODIES, NBC’s THE CARMICHAEL SHOW and IFC’s DOCUMENTARY NOW.
Tawny is the co-host of the comedy-meets-culture podcast Yo, Is This Racist? and frequently appears playing characters and improvising on podcasts like Comedy Bang! Bang!, Spontaneanation with Paul F. Tompkins, Hollywood Handbook & Hello From the Magic Tavern.’
