Tuskola is the moniker of Texas songwriter Ryan Brewer. Musically raised on a diet of Midwest emo, slowcore, and a dose of country bleeding in at the edges, Brewer filters his observations and experiences through a lens at times obscure, and at times crystal clear. Since forming the slowcore band Good Night & Good Morning in 2007 while still in high school, Brewer’s songwriting has evolved through countless collaborations and tours with a diverse list of artists. Named after the Illinois chemical refinery town his family hails from, Tuskola is the music of grappling with family history, future uncertainty, and the jaded desire for some kind of spiritual truth.
